Two Reasons to Celebrate in May

May is Foster Care Awareness Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, and we are celebrating!

“Over Sunbeam’s 115-year history, we have evolved to meet the growing needs of children and families in our community,” said Sunbeam CEO Sarah Rahhal, LCSW.  “The month of May offers us an opportunity to shine a light on the kindness of foster families and the benefits of mental health services.”

Thanks to the generous support of our community, Sunbeam has been supporting children in foster care and foster families since the 1930s and provided affordable mental health services since 1940.

Red Nose Day is May 26th

A healthy child is an empowered child. Empowering children at an early age in learning and development can help them achieve their limitless potential. Empowering our families ensures our community is a brighter place. As our CEO Sarah Rahhal said, we are "reaching for the sun so our community shines."

This Red Nose Day, we invite you to help ensure a healthy future for all children by purchasing a Red Nose at your local Walgreens or by making a donation to the Red Nose Day campaign. Your Red Nose Day purchase will create positive change in our community.

"I enjoy the personable and relatability aspects of fostering through Sunbeam,” shared one Sunbeam foster mom. “It brings me peace to know that someone is in our corner...with our kid(s)' best interest at heart. Fostering comes with many ups and downs, and I am so thankful that our Sunbeam worker has our backs!"
