This year, we are excited to be celebrating Head Start's 60th Birthday! Our Senior Program Director, Anthony, was a Head Start child himself and shared with us what the program has meant to him and his family.

Sunbeam is an Early Head Start and Head Start provider in Oklahoma county. Since 1965, Head Start has been transforming lives by ensuring every child, regardless of their circumstances, can reach their full potential! Over the past six decades, Head Start has positively impacted more than 40 million children and families, leading to better health, school readiness, and higher graduation rates.

Happy National Nutrition Month! We are so thankful to have an incredible nutrition team that serves healthy and tasty breakfast, lunch, and snacks to children at our Early Education Centers every day.

Nutrition is a cornerstone of the Head Start program, significantly impacting children's physical health, cognitive development, and emotional well-being. Our dedicated team ensures that every meal is balanced and nutritious, supporting growth, strengthening the immune system, and enhancing brain function. By integrating nutrition education, we empower children to understand the importance of healthy eating habits and make informed food choices.

Family-style dining at our centers transforms mealtime into a valuable learning experience. Children learn independence by serving themselves, develop social skills through shared meals, and practice language in a natural setting. This approach fosters healthy eating habits, encourages cooperation, and creates a stable, comforting environment that promotes holistic development. We are proud to offer such enriching experiences to our children every day.
