Limited Tickets and Sponsorship Available - Reserve by March 25th

Join Sunbeam Family Services in lighting the way for Central Oklahomans at the 8th annual Shine a Light event, chaired by Ginny Bass Carl and Hillary Burkholder. Enjoy dinner, drinks, and inspiring stories of hope on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel. The reception begins at 6 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

The event will also celebrate 2022 Aspire Award recipients Roger and Phyllis Stong for their dedication in building brighter futures with all children and families. Working together, we can “Shine a Light” on the needs of our community and help even more children and families find their light.

Make a Gift to Help Build Brighter Futures with all Children and Families

When all families can build a strong foundation for their children, we all have brighter futures. Now is the time to invest in Oklahoma's greatest resource.

With the support of our community and friends like you, we can provide families with high-quality early care and education to prepare babies and toddlers for continued success in school and life.

Please help raise $15,000 by March 31st by making a gift today.

Your generosity:

  • Prepares babies and toddlers for school and life success
  • Supports Oklahoman's mental health and well-being
  • Provides safe, loving homes for children in foster care
  • Helps connect families with support and resources

Sunbeam's New Volunteer Program

We are excited to introduce our new volunteer programs, Classroom Buddies and Wacky Wednesdays!

Through Classroom Buddies, volunteers support an enriching early learning environment and make an impact that lasts a lifetime. These hour-long opportunities may include reading to children from ages birth to three, having lunch with the children, engaging in activities and helping with the nap-time transition.

Through Wacky Wednesdays, volunteers help engage families in an activity that stimulates brain development while nurturing the parent and child relationship. These two-hour long opportunities may include welcoming families into the activity space and engaging in STEAM activities.

Volunteers must be age 18 or older and vaccinated. For more information, or to sign up to volunteer, click the button below or contact Colleen Howe at chowe@sunbeamfamilyservices.org or (405) 609-1755.

Foster Hope with Sunbeam

Join us for a one-hour virtual informational meeting on April 9 at 2:00 PM! A Sunbeam foster care expert will be sharing information on the foster care process, the wraparound support foster children and families receive from Sunbeam, and why Sunbeam was voted as Metro Family Magazine’s 2021 Family Favorite – Foster Care agency. Come learn how you can foster hope!

Questions? Contact Jana at (405) 609-6682 or fostercare@sunbeamfamilyservices.org.

Support for Grandparents

Are you a grandparent raising your grandchild, or grandchildren, in the absence of the parent(s)? Are you 55+? Do you live in Oklahoma, Cleveland, Canadian, or Logan County? If so, we are here to support you through in-person and virtual support groups, connecting you with resources, mental health support, and referral to one of Sunbeam's early education centers.

Questions? Call Andrea at (405) 609-6551 or ahughes@sunbeamfamilyservices.org.

Meet Anthony Stafford, Senior Program Director

Anthony joined us in 2021 as the Senior Program Director of Early Childhood Services and has spent his career working with Head Start programs.

His own experience with Head Start inspires him to help build brighter futures each day:

"I attended the Head Start program in the City of St. Louis in a Lutheran Church," says Anthony. "I was a child that needed the social interaction and self-regulation skills Head Start provided. Without Head Start, I don't know if my pre-k and early elementary school days would have been as successful. It gave me the opportunity to experience learning in a positive light and environment.”

Now Hiring Early Childhood Brain Builders

Sunbeam Family Services is offering a $2,000 sign-on incentive for new full-time early childhood education teachers, and a $1,000 incentive for new part-time teachers.
